At medical schools around the country, poorly judged online decisions have resulted in students being removed from programs and have led to failures in securing or retaining employment. Unprofessional behavior does have consequences.

Copying, displaying and/or distributing copyrighted works may infringe the owner’s copyright. Any use of computer or duplicating facilities by students, faculty or staff for infringing use of copyrighted works is subject to appropriate disciplinary action as well as those civil and criminal penalties provided by federal law. Students who publicly distribute copies or modified copies of instructors’ course material may be considered in violation of fair use and subject to the appropriate disciplinary actions.
